Two new Brews and a Tour on Tap!
I never thought August could become my busiest beer month, but just a day after participating in the NY Pro-Am Brew P.I.T. serving two Belgian Saisons - The Chilinger Parti Plan (Golden Ale with Chilies and Ginger, 7.7% ABV) and Smoke Screen (Black Smoke Saison, 5.5% ABV) - I found myself brewing an Imperial Chocolate Stout with my father in-law, followed a week later by an American Red with a good friend who contributed 5 oz. of home grown Nugget hops to the kettle. The enticing aromas are still lingering in our home... Luckily, I was able to bottle up the last few drops of the P.I.T. Saisons, so I could submit one to the Brooklyn Wort (wish the Parti Plan good luck!) and make way for my Myrical Saison which has been hanging out in a corner all Summer. It will be unleashed on September 20th during Josh Bernstein's next Homebrew Tour (see below) along with a dry hopped and slightly spicy Red Ale. I can't wait to share these wares with some thirsty "tourists" and then impart some home brewing knowledge at this fall's BrewTorial: Pumpkin Ale on October 25th, to be ready for some sweetly spiced Thanksgiving sipping. Brew ON!
